Henry Wag, the Coleford based pet products business appeared on the BBC TV show The Customer is Always Right on 3rd May and cleaned up, being awarded first place and The Customer is Always Right trophy.

The Henry Wag Noodle Glove Dog Drying Towel, which featured on the show, was competing against the Colandish, a colander which converted to a bowl and the Napsack Hammock, a hammock with tarpaulin cover.

The Noodle Glove Dog Towel was assessed by 5 judges and was tested for some unusual uses, by one judge as a floor mop and by another as a towel to dry one of the testers’ torso. It came out on top with a total score of 42 out of possible total of 50 with the 2 judges, who owned dogs, awarding the product 10 out of 10.

“I was really happy with the feedback from the judges. It is great to have our efforts recognised by consumers,” said Grant Rogers who appeared on the show. “The programme did a great job of telling the back ground story to Henry Wag and giving the viewer a really good impression of how effective the product is at removing dirt and water from active dogs. It was also really nice to see the beautiful Wye Valley feature on a major TV show.”

Since the show aired, sales across the Henry Wag range have soared, with the Noodle Glove Towel proving very popular. Stockists of the Henry Wag range also saw increased demand and the show has prompted interest with new enquiries coming in from all over the world.

The Customer is Always Right Trophy will take pride of place in the Busy Coleford office to reward the team for their efforts and to celebrate the creation of great ideas.
